Literature Text

Oh, the outcry for the injustice.
Oh, the outcry for the mistreatment,
Of some ancestors that occurred a hundred or so years ago.

The constant argument,
The constant hate toward (white) people that were not even born yet,
Due to the beatings,
The torture,
The whippings,
And the lynching that their ancestors were forced to endure.

What one never hears,
What one never thinks about,
Is that it was not just the Africans that were subjected to this treatment.

My people (Irish) were forced into a kind of slavery too.
True that it did not last a lifetime.
But our youth was stolen in the middle of the night,
Had to endure the harsh working condition,
The beatings,
The torture,
The whippings,
And the lynching too.
Until the time they paid off the forced debt,
The was a result from coming to a new land,
That no one wanted to come to,
Except from a scarce few.
A little history lesson..... not meant to offend anyone
